Juniper Springs

Cool Swimming Hole You Got There

We made sure to pick the cool camp site located just about a hundred yards from the actual springs. We would take a quick trail on down to the watering hole. Juniper Springs was a lot bigger than I expected. Plently of room for all the little rug rats to run around. The water is a constant cool temp which made for great relief from all the damn bug bites. The cool water would numb my mosquito wounds real nice.

Running Water

Water came from the spring at a pretty good rate which made for swift water flow. For this reason, back in the day pioneers built a mill just downstream from the spring. The mill acted as a powerplant and housed a bunch of batteries that were constantly charged from the running water. The mill is still there today and acts as a historic site.
