I Got Engaged!
What is Bling*?
Simply put... a short blog about the ring.
How It All Started
Let me begin by saying the diamond was a gift given to me by my mom. My dad bought it some 30 years ago for her. This really means a lot to Heather and I... plus thats one less thing I gotta worry about. hehe.
The stone is .33 karrots, round cut and is practically flawless (much like myself). It sparkles real nice.
About a week before actually having the ring in my hot little hands, Heather and I went down to Vero to the local jewelers (Zarans) to check things out. I wanted Heather to be very much involved in this process because... she wanted to.
Kurt, the jeweler, was super nice and very helpful. We visited a number of other jewelers around Gainesville but none of them really cared. Kurt's the man. Thanks!
So I'm looking around and I see this super pretty white gold ring sitting there and I knew that was the one. Now all I had to do was to convince Heather. No problem, she agrees and falls in love with it. SWEET! job done, right? Now we gotta look at the bands. I wondered around the shop while Heather and my mom were looking at bands. It was hard to find "one" to go with the ring so my mother has a great solution... "Get TWO" she yells. Heathers eyes lit up and said, "That's such a great idea." I totally agreed. I did remind her TWO motorcycles are better than one.
We placed the order and the waiting game began again.
Waiting...
I had the ring mailed to my office in Ben Hill Griffen Stadium. I thought it was going to arrive Monday, June 14th but it didnt arrive till Wednesday the 16th. Those were a long couple of days.

Heather had work off all day and we planned on going out with a couple of friends that night. My friend, Ryan was moving to Chappel Hill on Thursday so we wanted to push him off (in a good way).
We're getting ready to leave when I stopped her, looked her in the eye, got down on a knee and asked her to marry me. She got all teary eyed and the dog (Turkish) was jumping all over the place. She said YES! Twas a good outcome! We went out, had a few too many drinks and called it a night.
Needless to say I didn't go to work the next morning. My boss was very understanding. Thanx boss!
I'll keep everybody posted on what's to come... I sure don't know what to do so please send me some advice.
