We love the new flooring... all the bitchen and bleeding sure paid off. Thanx a bunch to my folks for helping. We sure learned a lot and had some laughs. Now the only thing left is to install the 3/4 round to go around the baseboards. I'm taking a break.

We are in the studio now... Finally! We are super tired but still having a good time and laughing at our stupid mistakes. All in all we learned a lot and had a great time working together. There were times we got frustrated but that's expected from two short tempered kirbys on the job.

We still haven't really figured out a good method to laying the flooring so things aren't going together all to well. Now we have the living room laid and have moved into the hallway. It took us about two hours to finish the living room and three hours to get around the first corner and threshold. If i could summerize this project with one word it would be "improvise"... well one more... "knees".

Just some random shots during the flooring install weekend adventure. The table saw sure helped us out a lot. I got it from my grandfather (on dads side) in Connecticut. I got lots of tools passed on to me from my grandfather. My dad sure hooked me up by bringing them all down for me.

Finally got the workspace finished. I'm really happy with the results. The dark stain was getting old so I went with dads advice and finished the top with a natural stain. The wood grain really pops out and has so much depth. I'm sure gonna hate covering it all up with computers and monitors... naw not really hehe.

Here's the first coat of bright green and it really didn't go on smooth. The cool thing is that the walls will have a soft texture apperarence. This was a pain because I have zero patience... arggg (stupid typing). See... there I go.

The dinning area now has a white chair rail with thin white stripes that extend to the floor.

It's been a while sense I've posted anything... We've been really busy and loving all the excitment. My parents came up the first couple of times to help paint and trim the yard up. Soon after... Heathers parents came to visit and her father helped me build the bar. Big Thanx goes to the folks! Now we are getting somewhere. Place is starting to look like a home!

We are super excited to be homeowners. To hell with renting... although we did have a really sweet apt. But I digress... We've got so many ideas-a-brewin and can't wait to get started.
